The Rajiv Gandhi Government College,
Chaura Maidan, Shimla has established an
Internal Complaints Committee to handle complaints regarding sexual harassment
and promote gender sensitization in accordance with UGC/Supreme Court
guidelines. The committee is functional with the following members:

Objectives:
The committee upholds the following objectives:
1. To prevent and prohibit incidents of sexual
harassment of female employees and students in the college.
2. To promote gender equality, dignity and
respect for all members of the college community.
Mechanism
for Submission of Complaints:
The actions listed below can be
taken by a victim seeking remedies for sexual harassment:
1. Express directly to the harasser
that you find their behaviour improper, that it is unwanted, and that you would
like them to cease. This needs to be said very emphatically and clearly.
2. The person who is harassed may
report the issue to his or her Principal, Head of the Department, or Program
Coordinator, if it continues.
3. Employees and students are required
to utilize the complaint process to submit a written complaint or email to the principal
of the college or they can put the complaint in the complaint box.
